Why has Google search gotten worse?

The opinion that Google search has become worse is widespread on the Internet:

Here I want to look at how Google search works when searching for YouTube videos, what it might be related to, and what affects it.

Let's consider a specific case. If you type the name of the December Glow's Voice video into Google and select “Video,” Google will give you links to anything (to other resources (not YouTube), covers in Russian, etc.). But not on the original original clip, which was uploaded to YouTube on Dec 25. 2012. Unfortunately, the number of views of this very beautiful song is only 12,431. However, other videos (the same covers) have an even lower number of views.

Could it be the backlinks? However, if we check the backlinks in Free Backlink Checker by Ahrefs and Free Backlink checker - SEO Review Tools on the original clip and on the video that Google search returned, then both tools will show zero links. It looks like older videos are being downgraded in Google rankings, up to the point where they disappear completely.

I have a hypothesis that Google is making YouTube “opaque” to Google search (much like Facebook made itself opaque to Google search) so that people will use YouTube search, which ranks based on views. There are not enough views - promote the video, buy advertising.

Interestingly, among the search engines, only Bing managed to search for "December Glow's Voice" on YouTube.

Oh, by the way, December Glow's Voice is now in second place in Google search results. I helped a bit by using YouTube video embedding service - https://nimtools.com/youtube-backlinks-generator.

 Ha ha ha. . . .
